Rivera's

I have been going to Rivera‘s for about 7 years now. I love this place! The food and margaritas are amazing; the staff is like family. If you want authentic Mexican, Rivera‘s is the place for you. Yes you will probably have to wait for a table because everything is made from scratch. IT IS WORTH THE WAIT!

I used to go to Rivera‘s at least once a week to enjoy good food and to support my people. My cousin is visiting here from California and when a Mexican Restaurant was suggested for dinner, out of the 100‘s of Mexican Restaurants in Omaha, Rivera‘s was selected off the strength of our referral. After waiting for 45 mins my uncle who brought my cousin asked how much longer and was met with a hostile answer. After walking away an employee of Rivera‘s called him a "Son of a B***h" in Spanish. They left and went to El Catrin in South Omaha, they were served great food with friendly service. I live less than 5 mins from Rivera‘s and have told a countless number of people to go, I will now drive the 30 mins to South Omaha from now on, will not refer Rivera‘s anymore and urge people not to go to such a classless establishment.

i have been eating at rivera‘s since they opened. The food is so immacualate and the taste is even better. This is atleast 10 times better than La Mesa. If you havent eaten here it is an absoloute must.

It is always great, authentic, Baja inspired food. The service is outstanding. They remember you time and time again just like you are part of the family. The weekends are the busiest time, but well worth the wait. Rivera‘s is a winner in my book.

This is a step above. It is not your chain Mexican restaurant but instead fresh and delicious! If you love Romeos or La Mesa this is not for you....it is so much better. Fresh peppers, spicy dishes and unique Mexican fare is what you will find here. I go at least once a month!

As the sort of person who has eaten a lot of exotic foods in some less than ideal locales, the last place I expected to induce a night of Montezuma-esque illness was a clean-looking strip mall in west Omaha. The venue boasts of its authentic Mexican-style seafood, but I dare say the only thing authentic was the illness resulting from an evening‘s dinner. Steer clear of this one boys and girls, unless you are doing field research on tasty food-borne pathogens...

Some of the best Mexican food I‘ve had. If you like spicy food try their hot salsa.

Went there for the first time, it was great. Went at 9:30 on a Friday and the staff was very friendly. Had the shrimp appetizer which was outstanding. I had an enchilada combo, my son had a taco combo and both were great. I love the salsa. Definitely going back.

Clearly the people who rate this "best in Omaha" are friends of the owner - or have only been to Fernando‘s or Romeo‘s. I‘ve been there multiple times and have been disappointed each time. On one occasion, the food was cold and very late coming out - as if it was forgotten in the back. On another, the waitress couldn‘t tell us what was in the soup - only that it was "white". I will agree with others that the salsa is different, but that does not make a five-star...

This is the best mexican food in town, they have the best tequila collection and the carne asada is the best.

Some friends suggested so we had to go experience Riveras for ourselves as we love authentic Mexican food. This place is fantastic! We went on a Friday night and came back again on Saturday to be sure it was still as wonderful... and it was !!!

We love their Margi‘s!. The chips and that special salsa is incredible. The meals were great and they even offer specials sometimes.

A very friendly staff and we even got to meet the "working" owners... gee, no wonder why the place is great!!!

Riveras is "the" authentic Mexican Restaurant to go again and again. We will be back often.

Very authentic - best Mexican restaurant in Omaha, hands down. They have the best chips and salsa. Food is excellent. Service is friendly. If Taco Bell or Fernandos is your idea of Mexican, than this may not be to your liking.

I have never had Mexican food like this, and I am from California. It‘s my understanding that the owner is from central Mexico, and the style of food is authentic to his home. For example, I‘ve never seen pomegranate sauce on a Chile Rellano, but it is great. This place is a must if you are looking for something different.

Best Mexican restaurant in Omaha. Everything on the menu is fantastic. Try this place and you won‘t want to go anywhere else.

Excellent authentic food and friendly service. The owners do the cooking and serving so you can notice more effort is put into both. If you like Tequilla, this is the place to sip it.....great high quality selection. The decor could use a little work but hey, it looks better after a couple drinks.

Didn‘t know this place existed until a friend took me there today. Very impressive, authentic Mexican with friendly service. Very busy, a happeniing place and the lobster enchiladas were fantastic!

Great little Mexican place that is not the ordinary bland mexican we get used to in West Omaha. Everything I‘ve tried has great flavor and if you like spicy dishes, try their Enchilada Rancheras. Great authentic beans are also a treat and their salsa is a unique change of pace.

well, it just aint too hot. The chips and salsa were a disappointment, and the 7 dollar house margarita‘s tasted stale and almost made me sick. The service was wonderful, but I wouldn‘t go there again.

I was not expecting anything great (since it‘s in a strip mall, etc.), but this restaurant is spectacular! Must order the prawn appetizer (w/jalapenos, wrapped in bacon and grilled)--absolutely to die for, and the chipotle dipping sauce is delicious. Decor is not spectacular, however, I think this is how they keep the prices so incredibly reasonable. 6 of us went for dinner, and all tried different things (and sampled everyone‘s dishes), and everything was fabulous! Can‘t wait to go back. Will definitely spread the word.
